Quality Assurance

Quality is at the centre of everything we do. Our team deliver high quality online solutions aimed at building user confidence, increasing sales and raising levels of customer engagement. Central to our achieving high quality solutions is our quality assurance (QA) process.

Key characteristics of our quality assurance (QA) process include:

  • regular, open and transparent communication policy
  • clearly defined design and development process flows
  • benchmarking checklists for all stages of the design and development process
  • working from templates to ensure all project critical information is identified and communicated to all members of the project team
  • user testing, peer testing, system testing, acceptance testing, pre-launch audit testing

Regular, open and transparent communication

Our communication policy involves regular, open and honest communication between Fatpublisher and client project teams. This approach continues throughout the entire project lifecycle. We don't wait to hear from you. Our project leaders will guide you through the stages of your project in a logical and clear manner.

Design and development process flows

Fatpublisher utilise, share and reference detailed project process flows that detail all stages of the design and development process. Our core project process flow comprises of the following stages:

  • Research
  • Requirements
  • Architecture
  • Design
  • Development
  • Testing
  • Launch

Benchmarking checklists

We have built up a comprehensive collection of checklists that are based on industry guidelines and core customer requirements. The checklists are applied before and after each stage of the project lifecycle. For example, during development, our developers will work from a W3C Standards Checklist comprising checkpoints that reflect CSS, HTML and accessibility guidelines published by the W3C. Other checklist areas include Content, Usability and SEO.

Templates for project critical information

No web project is the same, however the nature of the processes followed during a project can be remarkably similar from one project to the next. Templates form an integral part of our quality assurance process. Project templates ensure no steps are skipped and that all project critical information is documented and shared with those members of the project team that require it. Templates also improve productivity and reduce the time it takes to get your important project online.

Testing

The Fatpublisher project team conduct testing at regular intervals during the project lifecycle including scenario testing, user testing, peer testing, system testing and acceptance testing. The testing is conducted on a variety of desktop and mobile devices including PCs, Macs, iPhones and iPads.
